Screencast #Web 9: JRuby-on-Rails standalone and shared WARs in GlassFish

Are you an existing GlassFish V2 user and interested in using Rails applications ? - JRuby module is now available on the Update Center. This module allows you to create standalone or shared WAR of a Rails application that can be easily deployed on GlassFish. Read the complete details here.

Hi, I work in JEE with JBoss AS and our apps are clients of .NET systems( with Webservices),
I saw your Demo accesing a Database, in our projects we have to retrieve data from WebServices.

I want to develop and build my apps in JRuby on Rails an deploy in JBoss AS, but i have to access to web services ( I know how to do it with Rails and with JEE) the problem is i don't know if goldspike supports this kind of migration in the generated war.

So my question is:

The migration would be the same?

If we have a Rails Web Services Application, we need another plug-in to deploy it into a war application?

Roberto, http://blogs.sun.com/arungupta/entry/totd_12_invoking_a_java explains how to invoke a Web service endpoint deployed on GlassFish. You can use similar logic for your application and bundle all the appropriate libraries in the WAR file. HTH.
