This is a quick flash demo taken from a running screen session showing 64 Logical Domains configured on a UltraSPARC-T2 (aka Niagara-2) based system.
We start with an xterm connected to the console of the "primary" domain where the Logical Domain Manager is running. From the ldm list command you can see 63 guest domains are configured. With all the consoles on the display I simply start all 63 guest domains, using the ldm start -a command, and we can watch them boot in parallel.
There's a brief pause before you see activity on the console while each domain's OpenPROM probes its (virtual) devices and initialises the device tree that Solaris picks up during the boot.
After a few minutes, you can see the ".... console login: " prompt on each of the domain consoles ...
... just to prove it's not a fake I'll login to a few random domains and even reboot them to show that each one is indeed a fully independent running OS instance.
