On Thursday January 25, 2007, we organized the second NLOSUG get-together. This time we emailed the invitations 3 weeks in advance instead of one week, and we had about 50 people registering. The agenda for this meeting is on www dot nlosug dot org. Actually, 37 people showed up in real life. In marketing terms, a no-show percentage of 26%, or -more positive- 74% did show up!!
As usual
we had a marvelous program with 3 topics this time. I kicked-off with a brief overview on the NLOSUG past and current activities. What's New In Solaris 10 and Beyond provided a concise overview of major updates planned in Solaris 10 and Solaris Next (thanks Peter!). And DTrace by Example described not only the DTrace framework but also linked it all together using a real case as example.
The presentations of the evening are available on the NLOSUG website.
I can't emphasize enough that none of this is at all possible without the help of other enthousiastic people around me!
When in doubt, share. Or, translated towards the NLOSUG: When in Doubt, join the NLOSUG!!
Oh, and speaking of sharing, please have a look at the program for the first OpenSolaris Developers Conference in Berlin.
