Addressing "anything Sun", that is: anything I come across in my role as a Systems Practice Solutions Architect. Your mileage may vary ;-) Mousebits: Bart Muijzer's Blog

On October 26 2006, the Netherlands OpenSolaris User Group (NLOSUG) held it's inaugural meeting at the Sun headquarters in Amersfoort, Holland. And... please allow me to say that it was a massive success!!

Thanks to many, many people behind the screens, we managed to pull this meeting within a week and got no less than 70+ people attending!!! Apparently, Solaris makes people move :-) .

The agenda with an oversight of the presentations can be found here. Feedback from the crowd was what I think is the key to success: have about 3-4 short presentations, addressing subjects of interest, with more than enough deep-technical content. A big thank you to Casper Dik, Darren Moffat and Remco Fugers for presenting!

We have every intention to turn these NLOSUG meetings into a regular thing, like once a month or so. And although there are some ideas on what subjects to address next, your ideas are the ones we need! So please share them on ug-nlosug@opensolaris.org and we'll see what we can do when. (To subscribe to this discussion list, point your favourite web browser to http://mail.opensolaris.org/mailman/listinfo/ug-nlosug)

To get a more visual impression of the evening, go to Patrick Finch's blog.

You're all invited to let me know what your expectations from the NLOSUG are. I'd be happy to hear them through email, blog comments, paper notes... whatever.

70+ - I'll have to redo the numbers in http://soulfood.dk/archives/2006/10/index.html#e2006-10-29T23_42_41.txt
