Slidy: better than PowerPoint or Impress

Tim Berners Lee makes his presentations using Slidy, a purely web based presentation tool that can be displayed in a modern browser. No need to mail slides around the world and clutter email boxes, no need for the recipient to download a huge binary: just send someone a URL to your slide:

If one could add audio commentary to it (which one may be able to) I would say it's perfect. Now would it not be great if OpenOffice Impress could export to a Slidey?

Updates
  • Lawrence Lessig has a post on how to create audio slideshows using Keynote, to create mpeg-4 files. As he points out it would be nice to have something that is not quite so heavy weight.
  • Marco has posted a more detailed follow up on his ClipperZ blog.
  • The microformats people have a Slidy equivalent named S5. Looks to be just as featureful, as far as I can tell.
