So I recently spent some time fiddling with a Sony UX mini computer http://b2b.sony.com/Solutions/subcategory/notebooks/ux-series and installed OpenSolaris 2008.05 on it.  These little machines are pretty amazing for their size.  The one I've been working with has 500mb of main memory, and a 30gb solid state drive.  

Installing OpenSolaris from the live cd took a little bit of effort: it required booting into the text console, running xinit, twm, then running the graphical installer.  Though one with slightly more memory wouldn't have any trouble just going the normal install route.

Once installed, OpenSolaris runs like a champ.  Wifi works flawlessly with nwam.  Firefox works great and the resolution is sufficient that you can read web pages much easier than on an iPhone or one of the other PDA type devices.  We even turned on the compiz desktop extensions without any issues.  Next step is to image-update it to build 100.
