American Accent

Here is my American Accent:

Your Result: The West

Your accent is the lowest common denominator of American speech. Unless you're a SoCal surfer, no one thinks you have an accent. And really, you may not even be from the West at all, you could easily be from Florida or one of those big Southern cities like Dallas or Atlanta.

This is hardly surprising, since I grew up in California. Interestingly, the description affirms something I read a number of years ago, namely that an American Western accent is really no accent at all and that it matches the dictionary pronunciation in most cases. Thanks to Alec Muffat for pointing this one out. Apparently, the American Northeast extends further east than we thought, at least in his case. Or perhaps this is what APL programmers used to call a "domain error".

Of course, the idea of anyone not having any accent at all is as silly as the idea that anyone has no eye color. Unless they don't speak, of course :)
