This is a great night for sky watchers. There was a solar flare that has caused auroras in the northern United States. It is the peak for the Geminid meteor shower, the largest meteor shower of the year. And to top it off, Jupiter, Mercury and Mars are all within a 5 degree circle.
Alas, all I see out the window is rain.
