Silly IBM attacks

Tuesday Apr 03, 2007

OK, now that's not nice. IBM sales people are telling Sun's customers that they have better performance per core. Does anyone know what a core costs in various architectures? it simply is all over the map as everyone is implementing cores differently.

IT's the SYSTEM.

As a friend of mine, the guy who runs the benchmark group in Sun, is found of saying "judging systems on a per core basis is like measuring car speed based on the number of valves. I must admit, even though I didn't like that analogy at first I'm lik'en it now.

...more results tomorrow, and the rest of the week...
