I'm more into performance and traditional servers/desktops. For more knowledge on appliances you might try to pose your questions at:

I'm not trying to push you off, just not my area.

Though the other thing to note is why people haven't done it to date may be a lagging indicator. Sun has just started a huge growth phase so you should expect more in the future. For example we have lots more breakthroughs coming in chips that will make various current vendors chips look... well, non-innovative. Same with software.

6 months ago a customer said that Solaris can't outperform linux, now we are showing 17% to 30% faster using Solaris vs. Linux on their apps. This is the right trend curve for Solaris gaining lots more influence and acceptance.
