Oracle reduces licensing multiplier for UltraSPARC T2+ systems
Taking a look at the Oracle Processor Core Factor Table, I noticed that on September 24 our friends at Oracle have reduced the per core licensing factor on UltraSPARC T2+ systems. This includes the Sun SPARC Enterprise T5140, T5240, T5440 and T6340 (blade). If you will permit the pun, this is very cool news indeed.

odd that they reduced the T2+ but not the T2

Would have preferred to see it go to .25 but I guess we will need to wait for oracle to purchase sun first :-)

More oddity, look at the date of the document, it is dated March 16th 2009!

The first time I read the document I scratched my head over the date as well. At the bottom you see there have been two modifications since originally published, both fairly recent.
