6920 Gets the Gold
The Sun System Handbook Team really likes this kind of news about one of our documented systems -
the Sun StorEdge 6920:
Sun StorEdge 6920 System Gets the Gold in Midrange SPC Performance Benchmark
Some highlights:
Results Knock IBM and HP Out of Performance and Price-Performance Competitions
outperformed IBM's TotalStorage(TM) FAStT900 Storage Server by over 150 percent
and delivered a 35 percent higher price-performance ratio
Comparative results against the HP StorageWorks Enterprise Virtual Array 5000 2C12D were also impressive
This benchmark firmly positions the Sun StorEdge 6920 as the performance market leader in the midrange storage class and reflects Sun's commitment to delivering customer value across all its products and solutions.
Our regards to the 6920 Product Team. Congratulations!

Handbook publishes E20K/E25K content The Sun System Handbook provides you with the latest support information for Sun's system products. Find specific information about a particular system, including part numbers and hardware specifications.
Check out the new
Sun Fire E20K and
Sun Fire E25K servers. They are Sun's first high-end throughput computing systems powered by the chip multithreading technology of the UltraSPARC IV processor. These servers deliver up to twice the performance of our current UltraSPARC III-based Sun Fire 12K and 15K servers in the same footprint.

Sun System Handbook
What content would you like to see added to the Sun System Handbook?
It was a happy day for the
Sun System Handbook Team when we found the
Handbook
had a record breaking number of page views for the month of May.
I don't think I should actually say what the record breaking number is BUT it IS significant as well as record breaking. (You know, it's not like we broke our own record of say 1500 page views in a month.)
I will say the Handbook is undeniably popular and we get a lot of good, constructive feedback. Makes it fun.
I'd like to get feedback about adding more content to the Handbook and going beyond hardware. What about Software content? Is the content at http://wwws.sun.com/software/ good enough or does it need a Support/Service slant?
Right now, the Handbook's Software content is limited just to
.
What are opportunities to expand? What would Customers and our Service people like to see? Send me a Comment. Please.
I'd actually like to get more involved on the content side. I miss authoring and maybe blogging will appease the urge.
