Beaning from Bed
Hi from bed,
This is the second time in a month and a half that I've been hit by a virus of the non-computer kind. It's like a mix of the flu and bronchitis: fever with lots of horrible coughing. I've been in bed since Sunday, and I'm tired of it (I hate having to lie in bed for long periods of time). I can't wait to get back to the office.
I've been working on my MacBook Pro and have managed to get quite a bit done. You probably know by now that the surprise I was referring to last week was NetBeans 6.0 Release Candidate 1. It was supposed to go out the door last night. Be patient, it's coming in a couple of days. By the way, unlike Beta 2 docs, RC1 tutorials and such will not be labeled as RC1, but only as NetBeans 6.0. This means that the transition to FCS will be even smoother.
RC1 is a big step in the 6.0 release, which is coming up really fast. For us docs writers, it means that we have to to hand off all of or docs for localization. This is a big effort, so look for these docs in the future. You can even help out with the translation effort. Just go to http://translatedfiles.netbeans.org and get started.
I hope my next blog entry will be from the office.
See you soon.

My sympathy. Bronchitis is happening to me more and more often in the last years, at the point that I'm starting to get nervous when I get close to some conference where I have to speak (I mean, for the regular job in most cases you can work at home or postpone a meeting).

Get Well Soon (I think I had the same thing here last month in England), and thanks for the RC1 news update

You can be honest. It's not so much the flu as it is the last two Indy losses! (sorry, this is coming from a Bears fan still stinging from the Super Bowl loss)

I think you're onto something. It hurt, doesn't it? The pain...oh, the pain!
