Mac OSX Leopard: All Systems GO

Hi all,

I'm pleased to announce that the last of my software has been installed on my Mac, and now I'm ready to go. This was no easy task. This is what I discovered while going through the installation process.

  • Leopard comes with the latest version of Python, which made it easier to install Mercurial.
  • Leopard also comes with PHP. Wow.
  • Mercurial was relatively easy to install, and after I solved the the missing global .hrgc problem, it worked fine.
  • NetBeans is up and running. I have both NetBeans 6.1 and a dev build of NetBeans 6.5 installed and working on my machine.
  • All of my iLife software works fine. I had read some stuff on the internet which had made me worry a bit.
There's a lot more to write (my machine is faster and runs a bit cooler, etc.), but for now that's. Everything works and now I can get more done.

See you tomorrow.
