MySQL Properties

Hi all,

When setting up MySQL in NetBeans 6.1, you'll probably come across the MySQL Properties dialog box at some point. It can look intimidating at first, but it's not. And there is a Help button conveniently placed at the bottom.

Here is some information on what to put in the fields:

  • Path/URL to admin tool. Browse to the admin tool (mysql-dir/bin/mysqladmin)
  • Path to start command. Browse to the mysql-dir/bin/mysqld command.
  • Path to stop command. You can use mysqladmin for this.
  • Arguments. Because you're using the admin tool to stop the server, type -u root to assign root privileges.
Hope this helps.
