St. Petersburg: Day One

Hi all,

Today I arrived in St. Petersburg for Sun Tech Days. It was a smoggy afternoon when we touched down, and after a nail-biting trip by taxi to our apartment, I have to say that so far St. Petersburg has made quite an impression on me.

I spent some time in the city alone this afternoon, trying to find a grocery, and I've never seen so many jewelry shops or cafes in my life (in one place). After a nice dinner of salmon with vegetables with bread and a beer (and a shot of vodka), it's time to hit the sack.
