The Glass is Always Full
A peer of mine recently claimed that I 'always see the glass as half full'. While this comment was intended as a compliment, I felt it necessary to correct him. I prefer to look at things this way - the nature of the contents and their relative contributions to the overall volume might change, but the glass is always full. :-)

I heard this interview question (second-hand, so the wording may not be just right):
Obviously an optimist would look at it as half-full and a pessimist would see it as half empty. What, you may ask, does an engineer have to do with that? An engineer looks at it and says "Great! I'm only at 50% of capacity."
