The longest reigning Pope was also the first Pope - St. Peter. St.Peter reigned from 32 AD to 67 AD. John Paul II was the 3rd longest reigning Pope. He reigned from 1978-2005 for 26 years, 5 months and 17 days.
The shortest reigning Pope was Urban VII. Urban VII reigned for 13 calendar days in 1590. Stephen II died in 752, 3 days after his election as Pope. He died, however, before his consecration.
The youngest Pope, elected in 955 at approximately 18 years of age, was John XII. The oldest Pope at the time of his election was Celestine III, elected in 1191 at 85 years of age.
