Brand Boo Boo's

Brand Darwin Award this week goes to the US government for "allegedly" flushing a Koran down the toilet in Guantanamo Bay. What were they thinking? This administration has been careful about spin, and I can't help but think that government officials knew this was gonna leak out. Did they miscalculate? Did they think this was going to play well on the world stage, or did they even care? I remember when the Abu Ghrabe prison scandal broke, members of congress compared it to "college hazing". US brand is ailing world-wide, and it wouldn't take much to fix it. I hope they do.

Guess it comes down to agreement on what the brand should be. Something akin to Samuel L. Jackson's Ezekiel quote in Pulp fiction captures it for me. http://www.webspawner.com/users/ezekielpulp/ Flushing paper down the commode is not something I'm going to get torqued up about.

Hmmm, such a thing as a blog retraction? How do you recapture your brand when it is stolen by someone fabricating "news"?
