Today is a proud day for the ZFS test development team. I am happy to announce that Jim Walker has completed the open source process that allows the ZFS test suite to be released to the community. For more details on what the suite does as well as how to get it, visit the info page and the download page.
First of all I would like to thank the team for all their hard work over the last few years. Special thanks to:
- Jim Walker
- Tim Foster
- Forrest Wu
- Martin Mei
- Robin Guo
- Marvin Wang
- Huajian Luo
- And to the ZFS Development team
So try out the suite and let us know how it works for you. The suite requires two scratch disks (in addition to the root disk) and they must be entire physical disks (cXtYdZ) rather than slices. There are a number of run modes you can try such as: ZFS with global zones, ZFS with non-global zones and ZFS with iSCSI devices.
As for contributions we are actively working on the test suite and welcome any contributions. You can contact us at zfs-discuss.
Have fun!
