Configuring CalDAV on iPhone 3.0 for Sun Calendar Server
The next release of Sun Calendar Server will be CalDAV-based. It is codenamed "Project Aries". We have a beta instance running internally, and with some tinkering, it can work on iPhone 3.0.
To configure for Sun's CalDAV Server:
- Go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars
- Tap "Add Account...", then "Other"
- Under Calendars, "Add CalDAV Account"
- Enter account information:
- Server: [cal.domain.com]
- User Name: [your username]
- Password: [your password]
- Description: [e.g aries]
- Tap "Next"
Here, if your CalDAV server is configured only on SSL, you might get a "Cannot Connect Using SSL" error. Just ignore and tap Save. Then edit the new CalDAV account, go into "Advanced Settings", change the port from 8443 to 443, and fix the Account URL to this format:
https://cal.domain.com/davserver/dav/principals/[username]/ (don't forget the trailing slash).

Hi "chienr".
I'm sitting here on the second day of the release of the iPhone 3.0 software.
I've been reading your guides to see if it would help me with a similar setup.
I'm trying to sync my iPhone with my Chandler CALDAV server. So far I've found that the iPhone only seems to be able to sync with a single calendar on an account.
Since I have about 6 or 7 calendars in my account, I guess I'd have to add them individually.
My only problem is that I haven't been able to fetch my calendar posts to the phone yet, even though i Authenticate correctly.
The url should be something like:
http://{address.to.server}:{port}/chandler/dav/collection/{collectionname}/
Have anyone else had any experience yet with Chandler Server and iPhone 3.0?
I should also mention that this is a Chandler Server I'm hosting myself - not a Chandler Hub Account.

You are not alone. Hopefully soon someone will post how to fix it :)
