Whoever creates an integrated solution on all three dimensions will win. Like what iPod and iTunes did for Apple. iPod probably isn't the best portable music player ever created and iTunes probably isn't the best digital media player application ever released but together they work so well. Only an integrated unified communications solution takes it one step further: it has to be open, because that's what communication is all about. No vendor lock-in, no closed platform, no proprietary API.
