CEC visit On Tuesday itself I was told to visit the Customer Experience Office (CEC) situated in another building few km away from Sun Microsystems, India Engineering Center. Before going there, had a chat with my manager.. ( well generally these chat sessions turn into long discussions, with inputs towards finetuning and improving whatever I am going to do. But in the end I must confess I end up doing whatever I had thought of before the discussion. )
Then made a quick visit to the CEC to make sure things are setup for the evening preso and demo. As usual, the things were ready. Whatever small configuration changes needed were so trivial that I could have done that in the evening itself. ( In short, I guess I wasted nearly an hour in the morning. )
The demo session was interesting. No, I am not talking about my preso. Before mine, There was a session on Sun's RFID related technologies. Interesting one. Then besides few, the x64 server line preso was my pick of the day ! 4100 and 4200 with AMD are unbelievably and literally “cool”. I regret for not taking my notebook along, some of the features and advantages over the competitors was nice to have information. Next time, I'll make a point to keep atleast a piece of paper with me.
