England tour helps India make and break records...      The recent England tour that ended yesterday with India scoring a convincing 5-1 ODI series win. Besides the series win, India managed to rewrite the history in both individual as well as team record books. Some of the highlights:

  • Sreesanth took 6-55, his first 5 wk in an ODI and his career best.
  • Robin Uthappa scored highest (86) by an Indian debutant in ODIs.
  • Yuvaraj Singh completed 4000 runs in ODI.
  • The 7th match win was India's 16th successive and successful run chess
  • Dravid also reached a milestone which I don't recall

  •      The bottom line is, overall it was enjoyable to watch India winning. The series saw many newcomers coming in and playing well when Sachin is not playing, Ganguly (history) is out, Sehewag and Kaif not contributing at their level best, and the so called key bowlers Pathan and Harbhajan were outshined by Ramesh Powar and Sreesanth.
This looks impressive in the context of upcoming world cup next year, but like many other fans I am waiting for Sachin to come back and contribute so that he is well prepared for what's most likely going to be his last world cup.
