Sun Fire T1000 Physical View
Recently received a couple of Sun Fire T1000 boxes and our lab administrator put S10 Update 2 on it. The system was kept very next to Sun Fire v880, ( an 8 CPU reduced to 6 CPU beast ) and a Sun Blade 2500 with two CPUs.
This particular T1 system, a lean and thin metal box looked like a helpless, small, dull machine and I felt almost no excitement looking at it. I was wondering if there is even a single CPU at all in there or the system is not even assembled yet !! Then I installed SunMC, added the right config reader and decided to take a look at it via Sun Management Center console's physical view.

And boy !!!.. Look at that
Have intentionally placed physical views of v880 and blade 2500. The v880 view shows three cpu slots with 2 CPUs each. The table on the right hand side shows 6 CPUs.The Blade shows 2 CPUs on board and so does the table on the right hand side. But the T1 view shows only one CPU in the center and the table shows 24 !!

That's just so cool !
Looking at
# psrinfo -pv

output was such a satisfactory feeling !!! :)
