Hello -
Does SunMC 4.0 simplify the collection and distribution of email alerts? For the moment, I have only seen client by client configurations of email alerts - how can one centralize these alerts so that any client alert will send out an email to sysadmin? (I know that Halcyon has a module to do this but it is expensive for what we want...)

You may want to try configuring all the clients via Module Configuration Propagation at one go.
It allows you to take one agent(client) as a reference host and propagate it's selected module configuration onto multiple hosts.
This is actually a feature of sunmc right since 3.x releases.
