Tuesday March 15, 2005 Here
is the proposed solution to the the reflectors popping out. Taking my
own advice I have used a pair of cable ties to hold them in at the
end where there is only a small piece of plastic holding the
reflectors in. I was able to use the spare reflector holder and
reflectors that Deeside
Cycles sent me after the early failure.
The only obvious problem with this solution is that I have now cut and drilled something made by Campagnolo. I will be seeking counselling.
The first test ride will be tomorrow, since over the last three commutes I've popped a reflector every day I should soon know if this is working. I can't see how it can not as the only way out now is if the reflectors break or the cable ties snap.
Now I wonder if Campagnolo would make the change themselves.
Finally EOL'd the Ultra 60 at home as since having the Sun Ray working I had booted it just twice. Once to warm my feet, I kid you not, and once to wipe my home directory off it so I can transfer it to a colleague.
So I am now at the whim of the staff who manage my Sun Ray server and as such I'm running on a system with the latest development build of Solaris on it, which was booted on Monday morning by the folks in Singapore while we were sleeping, or in my case probably not.

Not bad for a release that only came out at the end of last week.
