JavaFX

As you probably heard at JavaOne, F3 is now called JavaFX. The initial public release is available here: http://openjfx.org. Please join me there for discussion and further development.

Cool. Are you going to keep blogging JavaFX stuff here as well?

Are there any plans to make compiler for JavaFX? JavaFX seems to be a better language than Java. It would be great to use it in general purpose programming.

Hey Chris, Saw your presentation at JavaOne and I am really inspired! Been playing with JavaFX for the last couple of days and I must say "I Like!" I had a question regarding the key events. Did not find anything in the Input Event section other than the mouse events. My key events won't work in my app. This is what I added onKeyDown: operation(e:KeyEvent) { System.out.println("key event occurerd"); if (e.keyStroke == LEFT:KeyStroke) { System.out.println("left key pressed"); } else if (e.keyStroke == RIGHT:KeyStroke) { System.out.println("right key pressed"); } I checked against the DisplayShelf application and it does a similar thing. Maybe there is an extra step that I have overlooked. Please help. Thanks!
