My Roots

I love my family. I love them so much I'm going to write about them and I hope they don't get mad. They don't really like it when I tell people about them, but they're such incredible people they should be talked about.

I'll start with my mom because she's the greatest, most beautiful woman on this earth. Sometimes she can get a little ridiculous but she's wonderful and I love her. When I was a teenager I swore I never wanted to be like my mother (all kids at this age despise their parents, but trust me it's just a phase... how could you hate your own mother!) But now I realize I am a carbon copy of her, just 26 years younger. It's not a bad thing, it's just funny how it ends up this way. She has the coolest job ever. She shows up at work around 7:30, does some things to make these stock brokers happy by making them money, spends some time planning our upcoming vacations, making sure we get sweet seats at shows, leaves by 3:30 to make it to her yoga class, then goes home to this beautiful house that I swear needs to be uplifted and transported to southern california. It does NOT belong in San Ramon that's for sure.

Now my brother. Brian's my older brother who works at eTrade in Menlo Park, but lives in the city. Don't worry I give him crap about how he's polluting the ozone with his 40 minute commute back and forth, but he refuses to live closer because he says it's boring down here. Last I checked Mountain View was poppin' and 1st & Goal is one sweet bar! He takes the train though, and that makes me happy. He's a super genius and is going to get his MBA next year. Either Berkeley, UCLA, or Michigan. I'm crossing my fingers for Berkeley... He's a good guy, and tolerates it when I bash his girlfriend all night after I've thrown down a few. Sorry Brian you know deep down I really like Melissa. Seriously, I really do.

Good old Steve-O! Steve joined the clan about 5 years ago. Actually, probably longer than that but during those times I was not fully aware of what was going on between him and my mom :) I'm glad he's around though because my mom has a certain spark now that she didn't have before. He used to be this top dog in Sun's finance department, but then decided to jump ship not too long ago to make it even bigger at this bio tech company. He's awesome though, and he's one killer snowboarder. He needs a little work on the surfboard but at 6'2" I'd be struggling too. He's down to do anything, and that's why we get along. But one of the greatest things I enjoy about Steve is how he calls me out when I'm being a pain in the butt and whining about something stupid. He's a man of action not words. Just SACK IT UP right?!
