Seen at a petrol station in Dubai the other week.

You often here stories of people seeing falcons sitting with a seat of their own in Emirates' first class, but I've not seen that myself.

First trip to the Jumeirah Palm

The other day Mrs Saul and I inadvertently became one of the first non-construction related people to visit the Jumeirah Palm. I'd guess we belong to the island's first ten thousand visitors at the least, albeit by mistake.

We didn't get particularly far up - we only drove onto it by mistake whilst trying to navigate our way from one side of Dubai Internet City and getting stuck in overpass hell. You could see the apartment blocks lining the island's trunk and get a glimpse of the villas further up. Quite incredible.

I wonder if some of the first people ever to visit the Hanging Gardens of Babylon accidentally rocked up in their donkey cart whilst trying to go for a drink after work, somewhere completely different?
