Stuff Middle East

I'm two issues late with this post, but thought I'd mention that 'Stuff Magazine', the UK men's mag that covers gadgets and general tech news, has now got a Middle East edition.

The first edition's most interesting section was a brief interview with someone called Chris Saul, who told readers all about his GPS and how useful it was for offroad driving. The most interesting thing in the second edition was a letter from Chris Saul praising the first issue for its interesting content.

I never used to buy Stuff in the UK, but am enjoying reading it here. It's nicely priced and isn't just a cut and paste job from the UK edition - there's plenty of local flavour. The main difference UK readers will notice is that the cover girl always seems to be wearing more than she is in the UK edition. Photoshop's magic is worked on the UK pics to turn bikinis and other revealing clothing into something more modest to suit regional sensibilities.

The fact that a friend of ours is the editor means I'm expecting a host of free gadgets to come my way soon. Sadly this hasn't happened yet, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
