I've been tagged by Thin Guy!
5 things you didn't know about me is the topic. Despite this being a rather general and open blog I'll try to dig something up that I haven't already covered.
1. I have no interest in sport, do not follow any team and probably wouldn't notice if the World Cup, Wimbledon or any other major event were cancelled. Apart from the Dubai Rugby 7s of course, which is a social, not a sporting event as everyone knows.
2. The only sport I've ever enjoyed was skateboarding, which I did as a teenager. I was rubbish, but enjoyed it.
3. In 1991 and 1992 I was in a band called 'Jesus Wore Ray-Bans' with two friends, Simon Lodder and Edward Morgan. I wrote the songs, sang and played guitar. We did a few concerts in local pubs during the summer of '92. I still enjoy playing the electric guitar, even if I seldom get to do so these days. The pub where we had our best gig became a drive-in MacDonald's a few years ago - a sad moment for rock and roll.
4. In 1989 I went to see Faith No More in concert, around about the time of their The Real Thing album. The concert was at the famous Marquee Club in London. I climbed on stage at one point so that I could stagedive back into the crowd, but when I was lifted up I tripped and fell over onto the stage. The lead singer then sat down behind me and we lay on our backs singing the chorus for a while waving our legs in the air before the bouncer picked me up and threw me back into the mosh pit. This was my closest encounter with a celebrity to date.
5. When I was at university I was in a few plays. I quite enjoyed smaller parts with funny lines - lots of fun and less work, with a great party after. My potential moment of fame came when I was on the poster of 'Reality Bytes', a play I had a part in. Unfortunately I was ill and wasn't in the play in the end, although my face was plastered all over town for a few weeks. This was my most famous moment, second only to when a girl recognised me on the 65 bus after Jesus Wore Ray-Bans had played a gig at the German School for London.
