We did the snagging for our new apartment yesterday.
On the positive side, we still love the location, the general look of the area and the feel of the apartment itself.
On the negative side, the place was full of scratches, dents, chips and other damage. The balcony door had no handle on the balcony side and wouldn't lock properly. This should all be sorted out by the time we move in though. What was really annoying was realising that the kitchen appears to have been designed by a blind midget who's never ever used a kitchen. (I have nothing against blind midgets, but despite this tolerant age of empowerment, they really shouldn't be designing kitchens).
The sink is tiny, with cupboards directly above it, making it all but unusable. The extractor fan is far too low, making the hob all but unusable. The oven's too small and the fridge has a weird design that provides minimal storage space for its size. There is also a strange cupboard door that opens from the top, rendering the cupboard area unusable. All the cupboards where food would logically live are glass fronted, meaning it look awful if you store food in them. These things are very odd - otherwise the kitchen is nicely fitted out, with a good marble worktop. So why ruin it with these idiotic 'features'?
Unfortunately these are apparently 'design issues' that I have to take up with the customer care department. I translate this to mean 'forget about it, we've wasted our money and your money giving you a kitchen you can't use, tough luck, fix it yourself'. I have alerted the customer care department - let's see what happens next.
