Back on the road

I have lots of catch-up posts to make over the coming week, but for now I'm packing to get ready to go to Istanbul and Ankara, coming back Thursday evening.

Unfortunately I feel like death warmed up, midway through a very bad cold. If I weren't flying I'd be spending the day in bed with the phone off, but such is my dedication to Sun Turkey that I'll be on the Emirates flight at 1450...

When I debated this morning whether to fly today or not, I realised that this is probably the first time in several years that I'd have taken a whole day off from work due to illness. This is partly thanks to Sun's flexible working policies, which means if you're not feeling 100% you don't need to drag yourself into the office but can stay at home and keep up with emails and the like. It's also thanks to the fact that I simply haven't been ill for a very long time now, something for which I'm very grateful indeed. Long may that last...
