Had a great time last week in San Fran, attending VMworld.
I had about 120 people at the Sun session, which I spoke at with Chris Kawalek. I was pretty pleased with the turn out and very pleased to be part of the only Sun speaking event there. The rest of the sessions I attended were pretty good - I learnt a fair bit and got to talk to lots of people.
The event was very well organised and ran like clockwork. Top marks to VMware!
As always when in the US I felt incredibly slim and fit, surrounded as I was by a lot of people who were frankly massively overweight. Getting back to Dubai I realised that I was actually a fair bit fatter than when I left - a side-effect of not being able to find much easily available food that didn't consist almost entirely of refined carbohydrates and fat.

Am curious if you heard any noises about VMWare coming out with a version for Solaris/x86? Any indication that is in the works?

Do you mean VMware Server running on top of Solaris x86? There's nothing in the works, to the best of my knowledge.

Surprized about your food situation in San Fran. It is one of the most health concious cities in the US, and I've been there many time and never had a problem finding healthy food. Especially since I lived for years in Kansas City, which was all about bbq and steaks. You'd definitely seem tons of overweight people there! And now I'm in Abu Dhabi - often go ATV'ing at Big Red. I digress now, but first saw your site a few months back, almost killed an hour reading about your off-road stuff - great reading, hope to bump into you sometime in the desert!
