Thursday November 10, 2005 Check it out - a video story about the making of OpenSolaris. Called Open Minds. Mary Mary aptly titled her pointer to this mini "making of" video clip "6 minutes, 24 seconds".
Since I lived, ate and breathed the OpenSolaris project for about 18 months before we launched on Opening Day, I think we could have populated a 60 minute documentary, but then again I have a thing for documentaries. The idea for Open Minds crystallized when Laura Ramsey and I ran into each other in Menlo Park back in May and sat down for a few minutes to chat in the California sun. We thought it might be interesting to get a bunch of the OpenSolaris team members to talk about why we open sourced the operating system and why we care so passionately about the project.
