In pretty serious heat I actually managed to finish! The race organizers were so concerned about the heat and the danger to runners that they actually stopped the race early, I was lucky enough to be ahead of that point and struggled to the finish line in 4:36:17. Not earth shattering but most people were allowing +40ish minutes for the conditions so in that light maybe not so bad.
Thanks to everyone who sponsored me, we haven't collected everything yet but we should be well over the €1000 mark. Still a bit sore but we're already in planning stages for Berlin and Amsterdam, anyone interested in coming along??
Here are a few pictures, the small ones were stolen from their photo system Flickr link

Well the training is coming to an end - tonight will be my last run before the main event this Sunday.
In case you're not one of the people I've bored to death with tails of my blisters muscle pulls and numerous running gadgets. I am running the Rotterdam marathon this Sunday the 15th April see Rotterdam Marathon
I am running it with my brother Fergus who challenged me to the task there last October. We're looking good for a 4 hour run but have decided to run at least the first 40K together the 'RACE' may start then??
Just in case you come across this and actually know me and wish to sponsor me to finish, I'm raising money for the Chernobyl Orphanage Development Programme in Belarus see Link. Drop me a email if you want to pledge a few quid.
Just in case anyone is interested in the fore mentioned gadgets.
I'm using the Nike+ iPod add-on Nike+
And as a real training tool the Garmin Forerunner 305 which links up nicely to MB my page with a few of my public runs is Me at MB
Roll on Sunday!!

My previous post could not be described as informative so I've decided to make a better effort this time.
I work for Sun Microsystems in Dublin in the Solaris PIT (Pre-Integration Test) team. I'm still a relative newbie as I just joined last June after spending a number of years with Ericsson. So other than trying to get my head around test suites and logging as many bugs as I can I'm also working on an end user portal for OpenSolaris which will enable users to test their changes using 'real' test suites.
Just so I don't sound too boring here are a few pictures of what I can get up to in my free time.
That's me on the 'plane', it actually flew/fell quite well in fact I didn't even get wet on landing which you can see here, the guys aka the engines were not so lucky.
Other than trying to kill myself I also do a fair amount of scuba diving, poker (to subsidize the diving), various types of dancing and am currently trying to teach myself the piano.
So that's it a real blog entry and it wasn't even that hard.
