(Ein ähnlicher Artikel auf Deutsch findet sich hier.) If you understand german and are interested in the OpenSolaris ZFS file system, then I have a new white paper for you: "Das OpenSolaris ZFS Dateisystem". It was published during this year's LinuxTag conference in Berlin a few weeks ago. Since there's so much material on ZFS already, I decided to write this one in german. It gives a broad overview of the file system concepts and features, an introduction on how to use it as well as some tips on how to use it and links to more information. There are also some new and improved presentation slides that go with this white paper. The ZFS session at LinuxTag 2007 was packed full with many people interested in the new concepts behind ZFS. A number of good discussions with developers around licensing, the use of appropriate hash algorithms, and use-cases spawned from this session and I'm sure ZFS has made quite an impression on the LinuxTag 2007 crowd. So, if you know german or want to practice it some more, let me know what you think.
