Release engineers create mercurial clone for the NetBeans 6.5 release. It is available at http://hg.netbeans.org/release65. It means that the stabilization of NetBeans release has been moved to separate clone a the trunk is again open for commits for NetBeans.next.
There is High Resistance mode active for the release65 clone. Read the rules - http://wiki.netbeans.org/NB65Rules.
What will be the name of the next release? 7.0? 6.5.1? 6.6? What do you think?

Instead of thinking about the next version name, one might ask about the content and the roadmap. IMHO I would prefer a closer release, instead of waiting too many months to get one. So, following that idea, may be a 6.6 or 6.7 name would be appropriate.
Why not about pooling the NetBeans users in order to ask them for minor features they think annoying or missing and adding them into a 6.7 release and then, after that, planning a bigger 7.0 release ?
Just my 2 cents.
