A site of sometimes serious, sometimes humorous ramblings and musings... Dan, now the Crazy Solaris Guy, blog!

Monday Mar 19, 2007

If you haven't already seen this, you should.  Ian Murdock, the Ian of Deb(ian), is joining Sun!  He, along with a few others of us, are moving into the Solaris Marketing team to drive new perspectives, focus on developers, and continue to build on the amazing momentum Solaris has seen since the launch of Solaris 10 and OpenSolaris.org.

For the last many months, I've been spending most of my time driving things like the recent launch of Solaris Express, Developer Edition and the Solaris AMP stack so I've gotten to know the amazing team that has been driving the re-invigoration of one of the products that made Sun who it is.  I couldn't be happier, and look forward to bringing continued developer focus and driving Solaris as the best platform for building Web tier applications (Web 1.0, 2.0, X.0, etc.).

Welcome to Solaris 2.0, er, wait, wasn't it already 2.0, or 2.6, ummm, well 2.0 is overused and lame marketing anyway, wellllll, yammer, umm, OK, how about the New Solaris!  ;-)
