Short Bio: Dan Roberts is the Director of Solaris, OpenSolaris, and Database marketing at Sun covering core product marketing and managment. Previously Dan served as the Director of Developer Tools Marketing and Web 2.0 type stuff at Sun Microsystems, with responsibility for all Sun's NetBeans-based tools lines including Java Studio Creator, Java Studio Enterprise, and Sun Studio. Dan also covered various new technologies like Ajax and the broad Web 2.0 movement which are changing the way Web applications are built. He's been with Sun Microsystems for 8 years during which time he's held various product management and marketing programs roles covering many of Sun's developer initiatives including Project Rave, Sun ONE Studio, Forte for Java, and NetBeans. Dan joined Sun as part of the Forte Software acquisition where he worked in the Marketing Programs group.
