Ubuntu for 160,000 students in Macedonia
According to this German article, about 160,000 students in Macedonia will get to use Ubuntu via PC's and thin clients. Actually, the software being used will be a localized version of the education flavor of Ubuntu called Edubuntu. Since Ubuntu includes OpenOffice.org, I guess these are also good news for OpenOffice.org and ODF.

ODF becomes government standard in South Africa
I just came across this:
"Open Document format (ODF) yesterday became an official standard for South African government communications. The ODF standard is included in the government's Mininimum Interoperability Standards for Information Systems in government (MIOS) released yesterday."
Very cool news! The full article can be found here.

Book about Tango
In general I'm not recommending learning to dance from a book, exactly the opposite is true. However, there is a book that I like. It's called "Tango Argentino" and is written by Paul Bottomer. If you are generally familiar with the concept of ballroom dancing and Argentine tango, you should be able to learn some nice steps from the book.

Why "dancer"
For those of you who are wondering why I called my self "dancer" you should check out this link.

My fiancee and I are the couple that placed 2nd. BTW, we both danced for the Berkeley team during our two years in the Bay Area.
