"Microsoft slams UK open-source study"
"An eagerly-awaited report into the use of open source software in the UK education sector was published on Friday, and contained evidence that schools could significantly cut their IT spending by moving to non-proprietary software.

Despite this, OpenForum Europe--which supports the use of open source software in business--has hailed Becta's report. Open Note Taking
This is an interesting idea by Stephen O'Grady:
"I'd love to see the Open Office folks a.) push out a OneNote style of application, and b.) a corresponding open standard. Even better, maybe Microsoft could submit the OneNote format to a standards body, as I'd sure like to have all my old notes made portable ;)"
