Better Statistics Support in OpenOffice.org Chart
As can be read here, the statistics support in the chart module of OpenOffice.org has been improved. With the update it's possible to display the equations for trend-lines. The improvements are not in the regular download yet, but should become available sometime soon.

Open Source Archiving Software with ODF Support
The National Archives of Australia have made their archiving software Xena available as Open Source. The application and more information can be found here. Xena has support for ODF.
