I think the article referred to the track record of Solaris (all versions), rather than the record of Solaris 10 specifically. The history of Solaris tells us, for instance, that this latest release is likely to be very secure and stable. For another example of the importance of a track record, we can look to the history of Microsoft Windows to predict how secure or stable Longhorn is likely to be.
