Article recommends OpenOffice.org and StarOffice to fix Word documents
Unfortunately the article is in German, but it recommends OpenOffice.org and StarOffice to fix broken Word documents. Maybe this is a feature we should add to our datasheets!?

Definitely! One important feature of OOo is that it's all but uncrashable. This is useful when you get a document you have to open but it reliably crashes MS Office ...
