Just switch! - Mozilla plugin in StarOffice 8
If you always wanted to view StarOffice documents within Mozilla, now you can. StarOffice 8 comes with a browser plugin for Mozilla. You first have to check if during the StarOffice 8 installation the plugin got correctly installed in the Mozilla (or Firefox) plugin directory. On Windows for example, there should be a file "npsoplugin.dll" in the directory "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\plugins". If you can't find the file there, you can still copy it from the StarOffice 8 "program" directory.

In addition, you have to check if the following option ("Tools - Options ...") has been enabled in StarOffice 8:

If that's the case, it should be no problem to load StarOffice documents from your web browser.

There are better locations to install plugins into for Mozilla: Linux: ~/.mozilla/plugins/ Windows: c:\Documents and Settings\{Windows User Name}\Application Data\Mozilla\plugins\

A perfect tool will be a standalone XPI version of this plugin (everybody don't want/have the possibility to install SO/OOo...) Next generation ?

Same Problem with OO 2.03 and Firefox 1.5.0.4/Bon Echo b1: swx files open correctly inline, odt/doc etc. do not open inline, only offer to open in OpenOffice. Manually selecting open in Firefox finally opens them inline. Somebody knows where to report this Bug/get addition info?
