Just switch! - Powerful Forms without Programming
Today I want to show you a little "trick" that allows to create flexible and powerful forms without programming. As you can imagine I'm talking about the cool XForms functionality again.

In order to enable or disable one entry field based on the state of a checkbox, one only has to set the "relevance condition". In my little example here I created a checkbox with the binding "MayContactMe" ...

... and I created a text box for the email address with the binding "EmailAddress". In order to create the dependency between the two fields I only have to set the relevance condition by clicking on the "..." button next to "Relevant" and enter "boolean-from-string( ../MayContactMe )":

If you don't run into a StarOffice 8 beta bug, the condition should access the MayContactMe information within the "Model 1" instance and turn the value into a real boolean value. Now, the email address text box should be activated or deactivated based on the state of the check box.
