Just switch! - StarOffice 8 Migration Tools
The following screenshot (PNG format) shows a screenshot of a results file generated by the migration assessment tool that ships with the Enterprise Edition of StarOffice 8:

As you can see, the migration tool allows to collect and analyze data about existing Microsoft Office documents. The tool for example provides data about the age of the various documents, and thus helps to decide which documents are still relevant.

The report also includes detailed data about potential migration issues down to the individual file level. Thus, the tool really helps to get a better understanding of the migration efforts and costs upfront. The Enterprise Edition of StarOffice 8 also includes a first version of a macro migration tool, which I will talk about sometime in the future. More details can be found here.
