Benjamin Horst just made me aware of this list of OpenOffice.org deployments at universities and colleges.

The important point is the list of institutions, departments and individuals which do NOT use OOo. Until we find a way to fix the bibliographic support, OOo's notable lack of significant presence in edu is unlikely to change.
